Why Reading to SickKids Makes Me Feel Good

The last few Christmas holidays, I have found myself thinking about a group of kids I have never even met - wondering if these children know people are thinking about them, pulling for them, and praying for them in our own way.

I decided I wanted to meet these kids so I started reading stories at SickKids hospital, offering these children even a brief reprieve from their struggles. Lucky for me, they were excited I was there! Reading to the kids has since become a tradition for me. Sadly, I sometimes see familiar faces from one year to the next - children who continue to fight, who haven't been able to return home since the last time I visited. It can be heartbreaking.

But something these kids all have in common, aside from illness and amazing doctors and nurses, is an unwavering sense of hope. You can see it in their sparkling eyes. Once you see it, it's impossible to forget it which is why I return year after year.

This year, as part of our ET Canada Gives Back series and with the support of Warner Brothers, we brought the gang from Happy Feet Two to visit the kids who could make it down from their hospital beds. They were so excited and, even if it was just for a moment, they seemed to forget their troubles.

What you won't see in our story tonight is the amazing hospital staff. They are extraordinary people. They give and give and never stop fighting for these children. It is simply remarkable. It's unfortunate we need it, but we are so very lucky to have SickKids hospital.

Angelina Says There's Still Some 'Bad Girl' Left In Her

Angelina Jolie may be more known for her humanitarian efforts and large family with Brad Pitt these days, but it wasn't long ago she was Hollywood's ultimate bad girl.

The actress addresses her much-talked about past in a new interview this Sunday with 60 Minutes to promote her upcoming directorial debut, 'In The Land of Blood and Honey.'

"I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them," she says. "For many reasons, I shouldn't be here." Angelina doesn't elaborate about exactly what she was lucky to survive, offering only ,"too many chances taken too, too far."

Though she's definitely settled down with Brad Pitt and their six children, Angelina admits she'll always be a bad girl at heart. "I still have that side of me…it's just in its place now…it belongs to Brad," she says. "Or …our adventures."

Avril Lavigne Talks Macy's Parade & New Album on 'GMA'

Just off her Black Star Tour, Avril Lavigne appeared on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday morning to chat about her new album and the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

She'll be perfoming on a float during the parade: "I've never really done anything like that before but I have my winter coat and yeah it's going to be good fun!"

With her glitter-covered mic and all the songstress performed her new hit, "Wish You Were Here" on the morning show.

She's also been working in the studio and writing a bit, as well as gearing up to head to Japan and Southeast Asia in February to tour some more.

Talk about awkward timing! Just after Demi Moore announced she is divorcing him, Ashton Kutcher is offering up relationship advice in the December issue of Women's Health.

"I think it's all about working on the relationship," Ashton says in an interview conducted prior to the split. "Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."

When the magazine asks him to finish the sentence 'I could never be with a woman who...' Ashton replies with "wow, that's tough. I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me."

Yesterday, Demi Moore announced she was filing for divorce after six years of marriage. The actress released a statement appearing to validate Ashton's alleged infidelity saying, "as a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

Ashton also appears on the cover of December's Men's Health. Both magazines hit newsstands November 22.

Sofia Vergara is known for her trademark curves but she wasn't always so happy with them.

The sexy 'Modern Family' star covers the December issue of Health and inside she reveals she was once uncomfortable with her ample assets.

"For a long time, I thought that my boobs were too big" she says. "I was, like, 14 years old...I already had these huge boobs."

In fact, early on in her career, Sofia was encouraged to downsize. "My publicist (at the time) told me, 'I think you should just reduce your boobs because nobody's going to take you seriously here.'"

If you've ever seen Modern Family you know Sofia certainly didn't take her publicist's advice, and she has her mom to thank for that. "My mother almost had a heart attack," she says. "She was like 'God is going to punish you! You can't cut your boobs!'

As for going under the knife in the future, Sofia isn't ruling it out but approaches the idea cautiously saying, "I don't really think that plastic surgery can make you look young. It can make you look prettier, but if you go with the mentality of being young...that's where accidents happen."

The vampires just debuted "Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" in Hollywood at the world premiere on Monday night, and today they're launching the film in the UK.

RPatz, KStew and Taylor Lautner arrive extra early on the carpet at the Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford City to greet their fans.

Kristen is stunning in a plunging, sequinned Roberto Cavalli black dress, cinched with an Alexander McQueen belt.

The actress tells her fans - some of whom have camped out for three days: "Being put on the pedestals never feels right to me... I hope you guys love it!"

Also expected to be in attendance are director, Bill Condon, Jamie Campbell Bower, Wyck Godfrey, MyAnna Buring and director, Bill Condon.

With his shirt on, soccer ace David Beckham called in to talk with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning to chat about the MLS Cup Final this Sunday, his future with the L.A. Galaxy and of course, the family.

"Coming off with the injuries I had last season, it’s tough on my body,” he admits on his future with the team. “I’ll sit down with the family over Christmas and decide.”

But for now, for some good luck on the field, he’s put the kids’ names on his cleats: “I have four kids now so I’m running out of space a bit. No, I have all the kids names on.”

On their newest addition, baby Harper: “She’s unbelievable. She’s so beautiful. Having a little girl in the house with Victoria is a whole different vibe now in our house. She’s so chilled. The boys adore her. There’s been no jealousy whatsoever since she was born.”

Ryan told David he heard Justin Bieber offered to do a private concert for the boys in exchange for his private soccer lesson, to the dad-of-four’s reply: “I heard that and the boys are so impressed that that had been said.”

No concert yet, however the heartthrob says he did take the kids down to spend some time with Justin on Romeo’s birthday in Hollywood, while he was in the studio working on his new Christmas album. “I brought the kids down for a surprise… He’s so great with kids,” he revealed. “He literally picked up Harper and wouldn’t put her down the whole time we were there. But no concert yet, but I’m working on it.”

"I'm from Africa, I like heat... throw me in the desert," she says of the cold coastal waters off Rhode Island. "My bones are not made for this temperature, but I will do that for Vogue and for Annie."

She also opens up about love, the single life and playing the girl you hated in high school, in her new flick, “Young Adult”.

"The initial thing that attracted me to it was the idea of working with Jason Reitman… I’m just a massive fan,” the actress reveals. “It was in us talking about this character that I fell in love with her.”

Breaking Dawn actress Nikki Reed covers the December issue of Seventeen magazine and inside she offers up some insight into the dynamics of the cast of the Twilight franchise.

"In the beginning, it was innocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family," says the newlywed. "And then success comes along and changes the dynamic. We're not all best friends, and we're not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done."

Nikki also addresses some misconceptions about her that arose after she co-wrote and co-starred in the film Thirteen about a troubled and promiscuous teen girl.

"I got typecast as a party girl when Thirteen first came out," she reveals. "The funny thing was, I was a virgin, I didn't do drugs and I barely drank."

Lea Michele is stunning and sultry on the December cover of Allure but inside the pages she admits she wasn't always so comfortable with her looks.

The Glee star recalls how early on in her career, a manager refused to take her on as a client unless she got a nose job. Lea's mother prevented her from going under the knife. "My mother would say to me, Barbra Streisand never got a nose job. You're not getting a nose job."

Even the smash success of Glee didn't immunize Lea from a little bit of self doubt. "I never thought people would think I was attractive enough to star opposite Ashton Kutcher," she reveals about her upcoming role in the ensemble comedy New Year's Eve.

Lea also talks heartbreak in the mag, addressing her breakup with boyfriend Theo Stockman. "It's important to me to be honest about these things," she says. "There are horrific breakups, but we were friends before, and we'll be friends after."

As for what it was like working with Gwyneth Paltrow, Lea calls the Oscar-winner "one of the most talented, beautiful, smart-but-laid-back, cool people I've worked with."

To celebrate the premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1" fans have been camped outside the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles since last Thursday.

The Twi-hards have been securing their spots to catch a glimpse of the film's stars when they walk the carpet for the film's debut on Monday.

Sporting all kinds of fan memorabilia for Team Edward, Team Jacob and Bella, there are also loads of young ladies taking turns posing in wedding attire beside a cut-out of Edward from his wedding day in the movie. There is even a giant wedding cake to set the scene.
